The newest addition to Blogger themes

I always wanting to have a theme just like Google Webmaster blog, see the first picture, where you are given simple options for keywords through search box, archive or labels. Social connection and subscription link is all there in front of you.

It been a long time since Blogger does not have  new themes, until this year when they finally release the fantastic four themes. Namely: Contempo, Soho, Emporio, and Notably. Let’s take a quick tour on the common features on these themes.

I like to choose the Notably theme for a demo, looking up the picture above, we have the usual header with an option to show a header image. A subscription pop-up box at the top, search box and a slide menu. You need to activate the subscription box at the theme Layout to show it. Below is what it looks like in Layout view.

Under page view you can put your featured post, front and center, then followed by other posts and below it the rest of your popular posts. Check it out the layout below.
The slide menu is what comprise of the sidebar and visible when you zoom out the browser or viewing the page on large screen. Now did you notice the similarity with the sidebar used in Google Webmaster blog. The new theme put your focus on the posts and the extras second but equally important too.

At the bottom is the footer where the attribution gadget is pre-added but you can add more gadgets from anywhere in your own liking. Now lets explore the rest of the themes.

Contempo
The Contempo is the basic of them all but not the least. Use it as a personal blog, whether you are blogging about a hobby or your travel, this is a nice theme to pick. Take note the slide menu is at the left side.
Soho
The Soho theme is best for photography, paintings or when you think it’s best to tell your ideas through images. Post the best shots to show in front and just write a little description below every post.
Emporio
When you think few pictures cannot tell it all why not add more of it. The Emporio theme is perfect for the occasion. Wedding, birthdays, fiesta or anything which you find memorable to tell the whole world. Show more pictures and they will love you for it.

Then the Notably theme, this is what I am using on my other blog and is better intended for marketing or things you wanted to sell online. I think the best features about this new themes is to limit the distraction. You got few options making things simple, clear, get the information right away and fast. You can browse lots of posts (if set correctly under the Layout settings), add your comments and choose how you share it. Most of these themes load very fast but the fonts will display differently, depending on the operating system you use, the web browser and how updated it was. Over all it is a very nice theme to consider. New year means new set of theme to use so enjoy it.
